Wizards! of drug props: The Creative Behind the Scenes

Prepare to embark on a comedic journey like no other as “Wizards!” takes centre stage with its uproarious stoner comedy filmed in the top end of Australia. Directed by David Michôd and starring Pete Davidson and Orlando Bloom, this A24 film promises to be a wild ride of laughter and chaos. Behind the scenes, a talented crew of creatives played a crucial role in bringing the hilarity to life, providing the fake cannabis props that add a touch of authenticity to the movie’s comedic brilliance.

The Plot:

“Wizards!” introduces us to two beach-bar operators, played by Pete Davidson and Franz Rogowski, who are no strangers to the hazy world of cannabis. When they accidentally stumble upon a bag of stolen money, their lives take a turn for the hilariously chaotic. As they attempt to keep their discovery a secret, their misadventures and crazy encounters unfold, creating a plot filled with laughter and surprises.

A Crew’s Ingenious Contribution:

Behind every successful film lies the dedication and creativity of the crew, and “Wizards!” is no exception. To add authenticity and hilarity to the stoner-themed storyline, the crew of talented creatives at Craze Collective were entrusted with the task of creating and providing the fake cannabis props.

Immersing themselves in the world of cannabis culture, the crew delved into meticulous research and experimentation to ensure that the props looked genuine and seamless on screen.

Innovative approaches, allow the props to add to the comedic brilliance without relying on actual medicine.

“Wizards!” promises to be an unforgettable stoner comedy that will leave audiences in stitches. With a star-studded cast, the film takes the genre to new highs.

Hitting Australian Cinemas Soon?

David Michôn’s The King had a Venice Film Festival world premiere, which has some people questioning whether or not he’ll end up going down the same route for this in September. That being said, Wizards! doesn’t seem like a big awards player, so maybe A24 will hold out for a regular release in 2024 instead.
