Sydney, Australia – An eco-friendly economy is taking over Sydney’s Little Bay this weekend, in Australia’s first circular festival. The Looped Festival, held at Prince Henry Centre on Sunday 29th November, will play host to the event which promises to encourage Sydneysiders to rethink, repair, and regenerate their waste.
Looped was hosted by the Sydney-based community clean-up organisation, Seaside Scavenge, in collaboration with local artists and activists aiming to promote and celebrate circular economy principles in an inspiring and interactive event. Randwick City Council and Federal Member for Kingsford Smith, Matt Thistlethwaite, have also thrown in their support for the unique concept.

This weekend, the teams from Plastic Free Beaches, PluckFastic & Craze Collective have returned to curate the Art of Looped. Displays include interactive “Waste-Ed Wings” created by Sydney environmental artist PluckFastic and live mural art by InkHunter & Profets.
Other pieces on display include works by artists such as Rox De Luca, Maria Kokkoris, Angie Contini, Nichola Bryan, Birgit Heinemann, Recycletastic, RJ & Mlon as well as early works by PluckFastic.
It’s clear that ecological impact awareness is undoubtedly on the rise in Sydney, with the Looped Festival set to maximise on the burgeoning public interest to transition from our traditional linear economy to less wasteful ways of living.
