Only a few months post inception; recently formed Sydney label Scratches Records reveals a fresh
lineup of MCs/crews, DJs, and producers joining their camp alongside label manager and Sydney
rap icon P.Smurf.
Paying homage to the classic Hip Hop cypher format ’FOREVER’ is a posse track featuring
representatives from each new signing including Melbourne bass trio HI TRAX, solo powerhouse
FRESH VIOLET, Blue Mountains collective OTHERSIDE, PLATTERPUSH & CODEKS, plus the up and
coming Sydney heavy hitter SWIFTBOI.
Produced by former Thundamentals member Silent Titan, FOREVER dishes out the warm vintage
sounds of sample based Boom Bap, infused with a diverse and versatile selection of the finest
performers this country has to offer. The listener will be bombarded with a barrage of smooth,
punchy lyrics, relentless rhyme schemes and razor sharp cuts, enveloped in a soulful, bass-driven
FOREVER boasts a video clip of epic proportions. Shot at Surry Hill’s iconic Hibernian House, over
15 graffiti/street artists joined forces and painted the entire building using only black and white.
Hundreds of litres of paint later (thanks to Montana Colors) the multi faceted masterpiece features
some of the biggest names in modern Sydney street art such as Phibs, Pudl, Swaze, Kerupt, and
Kade, who have all rallied behind the Scratches movement with their huge involvement.
Look out for Scratches Records. Showcasing a strong, vibrant collective of talented young artists,
with a healthy balance of positive female energy. Expect big things from the newly formed alliance
