Activists Invade Australia Day Celebrations

Invasion Day protest in support of changing the date.

A group of local activists have overtaken firework celebrations in Warrane (Sydney Cove) using industrial grade projectors to display text reading ‘Invasion Day’ in colors symbolic of the aboriginal flag.

The projection became visible shortly after the pyrotechnics started and remained throughout the duration of the display attracting the attention of the many thousands celebrating the first landing.
